Bianka Mikołajewska spent years documenting how Poland’s cooperative savings and credit unions, known as SKOK, operated. In a piece for OKO.press about a candidate for the Monetary Policy Council, she compared the candidate’s statements to lawmakers with documented links to the credit unions. Her reporting on the sector earned her the Dariusz Fikus Award. From 2016 to 2022 she was a deputy editor and led the investigative team at OKO.press. She was named Journalist of the Year at Grand Press in 2016.
