Melissa del Bosque
Co-founder of The Border Chronicle
She has covered the US–Mexico border since 1998, focusing on migration, border militarisation and the responsibility of enforcement agencies towards people outside the centre of public debate. In the Hillman Prize-winning Death on Sevenmile Road, she reconstructed a police helicopter shooting at a vehicle carrying migrants using footage and incident records. She also contributed to the collaborative Inside the Border Patrol investigation and a series on migrant deaths in South Texas, while Bloodlines examined a drug cartel's ties to horse racing. As co-founder of The Border Chronicle she continues to scrutinise border policy through community experiences and questions about violence, money and surveillance.
