Mykhailo Tkach
Ukrainian investigative journalist; head of Ukrainska Pravda’s investigations team since 2021
Mykhailo Tkach investigates corruption, wealth and the conduct of people in power, combining field reporting with analysis of documents and public records. He has led Ukrainska Pravda’s investigations team since 2021. In an account of the team’s first months, he described reporting on sanctions circumvention, the use of state resources and officials’ influence over public institutions. In “WienProkuror”, published on 23 September 2026, he examined records concerning former prosecutor general Ruslan Kravchenko’s stay in Austria. In “CarthageProkuror” on 30 October, he revisited the detention of his own reporting team in Vienna, identifying Austrian case materials and newsroom sources while explaining limitations on access to documents. His candidacy recognises sustained scrutiny of influential figures, documenting how findings are reached and continuing to report under pressure. This profile recognises the methods and public relevance of the reporting; it does not endorse every allegation against the subjects of investigations.
