Tai Nalon co-founded Aos Fatos in 2015 to make scrutiny of public statements a permanent practice rather than an election-only exercise. Under her leadership, the newsroom combined fact-checking with investigations into organised disinformation and the work of developers and data analysts. Its Radar tool helps trace misleading narratives across platforms, including those involving elections and the pandemic. The team also developed Fátima, a bot helping audiences find published verification. Her proposed candidacy recognises both difficult political reporting and practical tools that reveal how manipulation is produced and amplified.
