Founder and director, Salud con lupa

Fabiola Torres founded Salud con lupa, a newsroom examining public health, inequality and the interests shaping healthcare. As an ICIJ member, she contributed to the collaborative Panama Papers, Paradise Papers and Implant Files investigations, addressing financial secrecy and medical-device safety among other issues. Her “El Otro Perú” project documented the pandemic’s effects on Indigenous communities in the Peruvian Amazon. She also helped produce the award-winning “Redes de Nicotina: nuevos productos, viejas tácticas” investigation. Her proposed candidacy rests on examining how institutional and corporate decisions affect people whose health concerns are often overlooked.
