Lily Kuo has reported on China, Taiwan and emerging markets through work including Reuters and Quartz. She reported from the field on Xinjiang's camps. She also covered findings about digital tracking of residents there. As an ICFJ “Bringing Home the World” fellow, she examined the socio-political and environmental effects of a multibillion-dollar Chinese water infrastructure project, focusing attention on the costs of major developments for people and their surroundings. Her reporting experience and international affairs training provide a basis for explaining issues where official arguments about development and security meet questions about residents' rights and public scrutiny.
