Iranian journalist and Shargh reporter
Niloofar Hamedi covered the case of Mahsa (Jina) Amini for Shargh. In September 2022 she went to the Tehran hospital where Amini had been taken after her detention by the morality police. Her reporting helped bring the case to public attention. In 2023 Hamedi shared the UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize with two other Iranian journalists.
Ambassador TRUTH is TRUTH Magazine’s honorary distinction for journalists, independent creators and educators, recognising rigorous verification, context and responsibility for published work. Submissions and voting run from 1 November 2026 to 12 January 2027. Recipients are announced on 15 January 2027.
