Investigative journalist, The Black Sea

She helped initiate “Malta Files,” an international investigation into companies and wealthy clients using Maltese tax structures. The European Investigative Collaborations project brought together more than 40 journalists in 16 countries and was nominated for the 2018 European Press Prize. It examined offshore links involving Turkish elites and mechanisms allowing tax liabilities to be shifted away from countries where business was conducted. Her work at The Black Sea also covers human rights, workers’ rights and military affairs, asking accountability questions where political influence intersects with commercial interests.
